What is an RFD?An RFD or Registered Firearms Dealer is a premise that can retail out restricted firearm-related goods. RFD's act as lawful transfer points for getting products into the hands of the customer who has purchased them, some charge a fee for doing this. Others - like us - don't charge the fee (except for FAC) as we are more than happy to accept a non-fac airgun transfer simply as it acts as free marketing. This does not mean that every RFD can sell every form of firearm, some RFD's are only Airguns, others can sell shotguns and others can have full firearms. This does also mean that when it comes to transfers there are also restrictions for transferring goods. For Airguns, we don't have to worry as much when it comes to transfers as all RFD's are able to transfer Airguns. Whereas for full firearms and shotguns transfers can be difficult.

Why is Vector Air always out of stock?Strangely enough, we sell products. I know shocker. In all seriousness though, we have a decent-sized unit but stocking multiple of every item ever made for airsoft or airguns is an impossibility. Quite often you will see other shops selling products they don't have. instead, you get put on backorder for when they feel like ordering more in. We try and keep our stock live and underquoted, this helps reduce the likelihood of having to call customers to explain that the item they have purchased is not in stock. If there is something you are after that is listed on our site, use the "back in stock notification" to be alerted when back in stock. We keep an eye on these notification requests to drive how we plan our purchases. This saves us from having massive overheads for the storage of products which keeps our stock fresh and new, this also means when we have a sale it isn't to get rid of the stock no one purchased years ago, instead, its because we can offer a sale on products that we want in more of on the market.

Online Purchases: For online purchases, we offer a 30-day return period. To qualify for a refund, the item must be unused and returned in its original packaging with all additional items included and unused. We kindly request that the product is in the same condition as when you received it, as any alterations may affect the refund eligibility. Please note that if a returned product is received without its original parts and packaging, we reserve the right to apply a restocking fee. We recommend using Royal Mail service as they offer free collection from your address Important: If you are returning a product to us that is in a state you would not accept as new, then don't expect a full refund. This is classed as an alteration to the product and would not be covered by the Consumer Protection Act. - unfortunately, we are not Amazon and therefore we do not have a massive budget for writing off stock. Do you buy second-hand guns?As a general rule, we do not purchase guns outright unless it is a rare gun. We can offer part-ex on new purchases however the value may not be exactly what you are looking for. Please note we will not part-ex damaged or ETU (Electronic Trigger Unit) Air rifles. If you are looking to sell your air gun or airsoft gun, we recommend listing the gun on The Gun Locker, GunTrader or Pre-fired as you will get a larger value than we can offer. If you don't want the hassle of selling privately and are happy that you may not be quoted what you wanted, please feel free to pop into the store for a valuation. Please note we may reject buying your gun due to demand and market trends

What is a "Restricted Product"Provided you are over 18 and we are able to gain sufficient proof of this, below is the list of restricted items that cannot be posted using traditional shipping services. We do not ship - Airguns or Air Pistols, Components Parts, Silencers / Moderators, Barrels or Barrel Liners, Power Kits, Plenums, Dual Flow Parts, Internal Valves, or anything else regarded as a component part. What is a component part of an air weapon? ‘Component parts’ is taken to mean any pressure-bearing part such as the barrel, air piston or valves from pre-charged pneumatic (PCP)/CO2 air guns. Screws, stocks, springs, and other parts that are not pressure-bearing are not considered to be component parts for the purpose of this Act. Airsoft goods are restricted by the VCRA and require purchases of replica firearms (Non-2-Tone) to provide a defence such as UKARA when purchasing

Do You Accept RFD TransfersWe certainly do! In the unlikely event that we don't stock a restricted product like an air gun, silencer, or barrel, we've got your back. You can simply purchase it from another shop and have it transferred to our place for you to swing by and pick up at your convenience. As a bonus, here's the sweet deal: If it's a sub-12 air rifle or a sub-6 air pistol, we won't charge you a dime for the transfer. Yep, it's on the house! We're all about spreading the airgun love. All we ask is that you maybe consider grabbing a tin of pellets from us, just to say thanks – it's the little things that make us smile. Now, if you're into FAC rifles, there might be a small charge involved (£25). That's because we have to put on our paperwork hats and do a bit of extra administrative magic. But don't worry; we'll still welcome you with open arms and a friendly atmosphere. But wait, there's more! If you want to skip the trip and have your new airgun join our local delivery run, we've got you covered. For a modest £35 fee, we can include your purchase in our local delivery service. Check out our local delivery locations for details here. It's just another way we're making your airgun experience as convenient as possible. So, if you're thinking about transferring a shiny new airgun or even a second-hand one, we're here to make the process as smooth as a perfectly weighted pellet sailing through the air. 😄🔫

I don't see the Gun/Product I want to order on your websiteEmbarking on the quest for the ultimate firearm? We feel you. As the rebels of the gun world, being an independent retailer means we're at the mercy of suppliers. If a brand's products are on our site, that's a good sign – they've chosen us as their partner. Got a brand crush? Play matchmaker and send them our way. Our rockstars – Vector Optics, AGT, KalibrGun, APOLLO, and EPIC Airguns – are the headliners, also chilling with our cool cousin, OnTarget Distribution. If their products are MIA, there's a chance they're not on good terms with UK laws (looking at you, semi-auto guns). Now, about our exes – the brands we used to groove with. Blame it on the usual suspects. Prices skyrocketed, supplies vanished, and sometimes, there were legal dramas like the Russian trade embargo (EdGun will be missed). Unfortunately, some suppliers make decisions or changes that affect their products and services – something we find a bit tough to swallow. We believe it's not fair on customers to deal with the aftermath, so we make the tough call to cut ties or pass them off. Airsoft aficionados, listen up! Unless it's Tokyo Marui or MTW – the enigmatic OG's we're dying to meet – we probably have access to what you're seeking. Our financial overlords might not fully grasp the airsoft revolution, but shoot us an email, and chances are we can outprice the competition. Rebels, remember? No unnecessary overheads here! Happy hunting, and may you find your perfect match soon! 🔫🌟

Is a Firearms Certificate (FAC) worth it?Pros of Having an FAC: 1. Extended Range and Pest Control: - An FAC allows you to use firearms with capabilities suitable for shooting over 100 meters, making it essential for long-range shooting activities. - It provides the necessary authorization for pest control involving larger quarry beyond the scope of conventional airguns (larger than a rabbit). 2. Ownership and Collection: - Some individuals may find satisfaction in firearm ownership for reasons of personal interest, collection, or even as a display of vanity. Cons of Having an FAC: 1. Increased Police Scrutiny: Possessing an FAC attracts a higher level of police attention. Any criminal activities in your vicinity or involving your associates may lead to closer scrutiny. 2. Financial Costs: The application, maintenance, and termination of an FAC can be expensive. Even if an application is unsuccessful, fees are typically non-refundable. Home visits during the application process require proof of suitable safeguards, such as secure gun safes, rated door locks, and structurally sound buildings. 3. Limited Resale Value: If you decide to sell or transfer FAC guns, they may be challenging to sell at a price close to what you paid. The market for FAC guns is relatively small and shrinking, impacting their resale potential. FAC guns are non-returnable items, making the decision to purchase irreversible and potentially affecting your ability to recoup costs. 4. Modification and Irreversibility: Firearms modified for FAC purposes often lose their returnability. Once on an FAC, they cannot be reverted, even if the power is reduced. This is due to their classification as modified items exempt from the Trade Act. 5. Permanence of FAC Status: Once a firearm is granted FAC status, it cannot be easily removed from the certificate. Even if modifications are made to reduce power, the firearm remains subject to the FAC regulations. Conclusion: While an FAC offers advantages for specific shooting needs, potential owners should carefully weigh the associated costs, increased scrutiny, limitations on resale, and the irreversibility of the decision before deciding if obtaining an FAC is worth it for their individual preferences and requirements.
